The first multiplex cinema in the Karlovy Vary region was opened in the Varyáda shopping center in Karlovy Vary. The complex offers six halls of various sizes with a total capacity of over 700 spectators. At the same time, it uses a modern automated projection system with laser technology. Employees operating the projectors are not required.
The new multiplex cinema, located in the Dvory district of Karlovy Vary, brings a new quality of film experience to the region. Several halls are adapted to different numbers of spectators, from the largest with 150 seats to a small VIP hall with 27 seats. The capacity of the complex exceeds 700 seats, making it the largest cinema facility in the entire region.
The projection is fully automated and does not require the presence of projectors. Technical Director Jan Procházka explains that all screenings are controlled using preset playlists, which, in addition to the film content, also control the lights and doors of the halls. The technology uses laser light sources, which are quieter and require less cooling than classic lamps. This made it possible to install a steel catwalk for the projection equipment instead of the traditional projection floor.
The operation of the multiplex cinema will also have an impact on the functioning of the shopping center, which plans to flexibly adjust the opening hours of its restaurants and shops according to visitor demand. This was confirmed by the director of the Varyáda Shopping Center Martin Nikodém. The construction of the cinema was financed by a combination of funds from the operator and a private investor, and the investment amounted to several tens of millions of crowns.
