The Varyáda Shopping Center in Karlovy Vary is undergoing construction and reconstruction in two phases. The owner of the center, the investment company EPG, anticipates that the total investment will reach approximately 40 million euros, which is nearly one billion Czech crowns. The initial work began in December 2023 and is expected to last a total of 23 months. After the completion of the renovation, Varyáda will expand by an additional 9,000 square meters and approximately 30 retail units. Plans also include the addition of a new six-screen Premiere Cinemas, as well as new cafes and restaurants.
As the investor indicates, the modernization plan will primarily focus on the expansion of the front part of the existing shopping center and its rear, the supply section. Upon completion of the construction works, Varyáda is expected to offer more than 100 retail units. “The total area of the center will expand from the current 18,000 square meters to 27,000 square meters,” confirmed Linda Ryšavá, the Head of Planning and Construction from the EPG Group, which owns the property. The architectural concept for the expansion and renovation is managed by Atelier Saem, with the domestic company OM Consulting selected as the construction manager for the project.
