Varyáda shopping center in Karlovy Vary has completed its first stops in the region. On Friday, August 9, it presented its Karavan Roadshow to its customers for the first time in Chodov, followed by the Rolava swimming pool in Karlovy Vary on Saturday. The reason for this event is not only an information campaign regarding the completion of the center, but also a kind of compensation for the closure of the Albert branch. The one in the existing premises ended on Thursday, August 8, and will only open in the new section on September 25.
“People’s interest is very high. We give out waffles, hot dogs, fruit, juices and prosecco,” said the operator of the caravan, which this time consisted of a pair of Karlovy Vary college students, part-timers Anna Vondráčková and Filip Polák. “I am a regular visitor to Rolava, which I praise for the way it looks lately, so I also wanted to try my luck,” confided Pavel Kobjakov from Karlovy Vary. The Roadshow caravan does not only give out selected refreshments to people, but thanks to the wheel of fortune, people can also win smaller gifts. “Everybody wins in the wheel of fortune. They are, for example, stuffed animals, but also money vouchers. The highest value is three hundred crowns,” the students added.
As already mentioned, Albert has been closed in Varyád since Thursday. “We are opening Varyáda MiniPotraviny in order to meet our customers and still be able to buy basic food from us. They can be found according to the easy-to-read navigation of the shopping center, specifically in the place where Bistrotéka Zlámalíková is located, on the corner of the DM drugstore and the jewelry store. They will be open in the same way as the shops of the shopping center, i.e. from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., or until the stocked food supplies for each day are released. People will buy fresh bread here every day, the varied assortment will include a selection of pastries, dairy products, sausages, meat, fruit and vegetables, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages , in short, daily necessities. It is a temporary solution,” informs Martin Malý, director of marketing and communication of investor EPG Group.
The roadshow will continue every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And as director Malý adds, while the weekends will be Roadshows, on Mondays and Tuesdays Varyáda Patrola will walk around Karlovy Vary. A couple consisting of a girl and a boy will be giving out refreshments and gift vouchers worth 100 crowns to people in the city. “We tried to design the dates of the stops in the Roadshow according to the major events in the given location. That is why, for example, we go to Cheb on August 17 and 18, when the Aviation Days are held here. We will repeatedly be in Lokta, when, for example, Kryštof Kemp is held in the amphitheater on August 28. We will arrive in Sokolov on August 16, because Olympic is performing here on this day, and on September 14 we will show up in Ostrov, when the Prague Selection will play here. On the other hand, we connected the penultimate stop in Horní Slavkov, which is scheduled for September 21, with the local Town Festival,” concludes director Malý.
At this event, the public will be able to imagine what the new shopping center will look like thanks to a model from a Lego set, the dimensions of which are one square meter. Work on the expansion of the shopping center began in January this year. The completion and overall transformation is divided into several stages and should last 23 months, so it should be completed before Christmas in 2025. The almost finished rear section will be the first to open. In addition to the relocated Albert, up to ten units with refreshments can be found there.
In the meantime, work has also progressed significantly in the front section of the parking lot, where the piles of the new multi-cinema are already rising.
