New Yorker is returning to Varyáda. It will replace Intersport, which is closing down

Karlovarskydenik.cz published an article abou the return of the New Yorker shop to the Varyáda shopping centre:

Varyáda is constantly changing. The New Yorker is returning, whilst Intersport is closing down. Where will the adult shop move to, and what can visitors to Karlovy Vary’s largest shopping centre expect?

Although the refurbishment of Karlovy Vary’s largest shopping centre, Varyáda, was completed almost a year ago, changes to the tenant mix are still ongoing. Teenagers in particular who love ready-to-wear clothing will certainly welcome the news that New Yorker is returning to Varyáda.
It had its first Karlovy Vary branch in this very shopping centre, followed by a second one in Shopland. New Yorker left Varyáda as part of the comprehensive refurbishment in 2024.
“We are delighted to have succeeded in bringing the New Yorker brand back to Varyáda. We believe that its return will please a wide range of customers and, at the same time, underline our efforts to constantly develop the centre’s offering in line with current trends,” says Martin Malý, Director of Marketing and Communications at EPG Group, which owns Varyáda.

New Yorker will now have two entrances
According to him, the return of the New Yorker brand is also a response to customers’ long-standing interest in affordable and up-to-date fashion. Thanks to the new store, visitors will once again be able to shop for trendy clothing and accessories in one place.

Whilst the clothing shop was previously located by the right-hand entrance, it will now be situated on the opposite side – near Premiere Cinemas. It will be taking over the premises previously occupied by Intersport, which is set to close its Karlovy Vary branch in mid-July this year.

Now that the Intersport shop has closed, customers will not be left without a range of sports equipment. The Sport Vision, Nordblanc and Alpine Pro shops will continue to be available to them in the centre.
“Furthermore, the shop’s location in an attractive part of the centre will contribute to the further revitalisation of the shopping environment and the strengthening of the Varyáda fashion zone. Another new feature will be two entrances to New Yorker – one in the existing part of the centre, opposite the iWant shop, and the other, a newly built entrance on the site of the current Erotic City shop, which is moving next to the Blažek shop. New Yorker is scheduled to open at the end of 2026,” concludes Director Malý.

This year, Varyáda is celebrating 21 years since it first opened. Over the course of its existence, the centre has welcomed tens of millions of visitors.
