A new multiplex cinema is being constructed in Karlovy Vary, and its screening rooms may be utilized by the film festival.

Six screening rooms with restaurants and cafes will be created as part of the expansion project of the Karlovy Vary shopping center Varyáda. The Multikino Premiere Cinemas could thus become a significant reinforcement of the capacity for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the future.

Its 58th edition, scheduled to take place in the regional city between June 28 and July 6 next year, will unfold in a total of twelve halls with a combined capacity of nearly 3,200 seats. Uljana Donátová, the festival’s spokesperson, stated, “The Karlovy Vary festival has been consistently exploring options to expand the capacity of screening rooms for festival screenings.”
